Our association was founded on October 02, 2023. Why is the name of our association Platanus? Platanaceae is the Latin name of the plane tree family. Platanus is a word used for the type of plane tree and the most common species in our country is called the Eastern Plane Tree Platanus orientalis. The plane tree is resistant to air pollution and cold, has very strong roots and is quite a tall tree. Starting from the plane tree, our main goal as an association is to support our youth in developing their professional, human and cultural competencies and values so that they can be resistant to the difficulties of life, combative, able to solve their problems individually, able to determine their career goals resolutely and work towards this goal.

The aim of our association is to provide practical training to children, young people, parents, women, disabled individuals, professionals, producers, craftsmen, tradesmen, in short, all individuals in society, to improve their knowledge, skills and competencies in the fields of science, art, culture and technology.

The basis of the changes that are happening very rapidly globally is technology and economy. In the reflections of these changes on social life, we experience the changes in the needs in business life, family life and individual life, and the reflections of these changes on the cultural and moral values in society very rapidly. The most important condition for being a leading country in the 21st century is to be an information society. We have recently witnessed the change in the balance of power in the world economy, where societies that produce information become economic powers by making creative and innovative discoveries. Therefore, as a civil society organization, we aim to produce solutions to the factors that limit our being an information society within the possibilities. The first of these goals is to develop the technological and digital literacy competencies that have become essential in the business life of young people. Again, factors such as the rapid change in the validity of professions, the emergence of new professions, and the change in the competencies needed in business life affect the employment of our young people and the sustainability of their business lives. In this context, our association will contribute to the development of creative and innovative young people, their participation in national and international projects to develop their skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership and problem solving, project writing training, active participation in projects, effective use of foreign languages and roles such as carrying out social solidarity projects.

As it is also included in the education understanding of Aristotle before Christ, the need for spiritual education of the individual is aimed to support the cultural and spiritual education of our youth with activities such as music, painting, sports and dance. Cultural activities will be carried out in our association in the fields of interviews (scientific, philosophical, history, art etc.), film analyses, folk dances, modern dances and music.

In order for a society to be creative, it is important that it knows its own historical and cultural past and protects its cultural heritage, and consists of democratic individuals who are committed to science, read books, research and question. As Atatürk said, “To be successful in fine arts means to achieve success in all revolutions. Unfortunately, nations that cannot be successful in fine arts will forever be deprived of taking their place in the field of civilization as high humanity.” One of the most important goals of the Platanus Association is to support the development of young people and society in the field of art.
